The Flying Car has finally arrived?

We certainly saw some outrageous technology at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week, but this one really stood out to us.

Drone manufacturer Ehang brought with them a drone that a person can ride in!  It can fly for 23 minutes before needing a recharge and flight is completely autonomous.  You pick a destination, get in, and you are "along for the ride" without any flight controls in the cockpit.

Sounds really compelling....but we own an Ehang drone.  Our "Ghost" is much smaller than this human transport and presumably has less fault tolerance built into it, but the fact is....ours has crashed 3 times due to a lost connection and also had one of the electric motors catch fire during takeoff.

LOVE the concept....but there is no way we are signing up for a ride any time soon.

"Connected Home" on your Wrist

The developers at Leviton have been busy!

Two weeks ago we mentioned that the Snaplink home control app was made available for Windows 10 computers....and last Friday we learned about a new version for the Apple Watch.

We have noticed a few bugs in the the operation of the watch app......caveat emptor.  Once those get worked out, I anticipate this being the most useful home interface in the toolbox.
